Gyroscope Manufacturing

As a part of a machine shop course I manufactured and assembled a gyroscope from a collection of technical drawings provided to me. Machining to an extreme tolerance was of the utmost importance throughout the process to take the most advantage of the centripetal force and the gyroscopic effect. The goal was to follow the drawings as closely as possible to keep the gyroscope spinning as long as possible. The drawings that the gyroscope were manufactured from as well as the finished product are shown below.
