Harvesting Platform

An improved platform for orchard hands to stand on while picking apples. The platform needed to meet safety standards under many different conditions and was designed to meet those standards as well as portability to increase the ease of use and transportation. A group of two other students along with myself designed and tested this platform to reach rigorous safety standards. We conducted a product life study as well as a fatigue study to ensure the product reached a minimum lifespan and was safe to use for that entire lifespan. Costs were considered and analyzed and the design needed to be fit to a pre-designed hydraulic lift. The entirety of the report can be found here as well as highlights shown below.,
